The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to donate over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.

“Last year, I had the ability to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a critical part of this community.”

Minnie’s Food Pantry was started by Cheryl Jackson as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they receive to create nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also give resume aid along with budgeting and job classes to help people get back on their feet.

Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.

“Everyone was so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even took time to show us their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
