Primarily due to the poor customer service and what I felt was up charging or simply the technical support trying to drive sales. The start of this was in 2015 when our up stairs HVAC unit finally gave out and we had to get a new one. And understand that my comments are based on hindsight, because 2 years ago our down stairs unit went out and in lieu of going with Golden Seal, we went with another competitor (Patriot HVAC) simply because they provided a quality of service and insight that has not provided by Golden Seal in years. Namely that the GS sales person didn't consider our years of being a client with GS or that they were providing us a system that was well beyond what we needed for the down stairs. Patriot came in did a full evaluation of our air flow needs for the down stairs (but also the whole house), and also assessed the existing Lennox system and provided us a product that was literally half the price of what GS quoted and also with a longer warranty. Sure we can debate the differences between Lennox and Rheem, but the core issue is that GS was trying to sell me a down stairs system that was the equal of the up stairs system which was entirely unnecessary. Thus my trust was immediately shaken by this. The challenge has been that we have two systems, meaning a Lennox and a Rheem and obviously to retain our service warranty on the Lennox we continue to work with yourselves. And considering the fact that we have had a relationship with yourselves for over 19 years and have paid for annual maintenance agreements, the quality of service and the technicians provided have been dubious at best for nearly 6 years. I honestly don't feel I can trust your company or the technicians that are sent out, and we have seen this over the past few years with having a different company supporting our other system. Each time GS comes out to service the Lennox the Rheem tech will follow up or come before, and they evaluate the Lennox and provide their perspective on work. And each time the difference between the two is staggering. Now I can certainly understand yourselves being suspect of what Patriot HVAC is saying or what their perspective is on the systems, but their goal is not to degrade GS or the Lennox product but to be objective and provide info. And when we confront the GS techs they become upset or seem to be trapped in realizing that they likely have distorted the facts on what needs to be done or the suggested maintenance work they are suggesting which is essence is uncharging. I shared all of this with the Technician who came to our house and advised him of our dissatisfaction with GS. He was very open, frank and accommodating with the discussion. He fully understood the perspective and issues we had, and also indicated that the customer service side (meaning your call center) was poor at best, and I would agree with that. I also explained to him that at no time does GS take the initiative to get in touch with us, understand our long history with the company (even through the sale, name change and revision back to GS), that we are never provided text messages with who our technician will be, that we are provided a service history each year, and that there is a diagnostics discussion on what kind of maintenance we should be considering and why. Patriot does all these things and we have the same technician each year. For the past 6 years we have a different tech nearly every time and as noted I truly don't trust what the tech is telling me. Having shared all these things with this current tech, he grasped the situation and understood that trust and truth is a real issue in the industry and said that he would make sure to be fully transparent and would share out concerns about the company. Thus I gave your tech a 10 because he listened, realized that now he was under the gun, walked through the work and service needs and discussed our annual service contract. GS needs to realize that your business name and reputation is going to based on your culture, the quality of the people you hire and realizing that the service tech is and will always be the reason people do business with your firm. We are still unsure about what GS is and will be very guarded regarding any service work but this technician started rebuilding that trust."

NOT true it was filthy and I changed myself. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed I have been a customer for 13 years since you installed my furnace and air. And will never do business with your company and will be reporting this to the BBB."

When three service men came to the door I thought it would be fixed, but they told me they couldnt fix it - the wiring was wrong and they didnt know how to adjust the settings on the Trane system. So I called another company who is a Trane dealer. When he got here he couldnt believe that your men couldnt figure out the problem. He said it was air conditioning 101 - there was no coolant in the system. There was a leak. He also said the condenser outside hadnt been cleaned at all, which I thought they would have at minimum done that. Im still waiting to hear from Jennifer the manager about a refund. Lets just say Ive lost confidence in your ability as a service provider."
